Customer Evaluations
We have Buick Terraza, in which the factory entertainment method failed. We shopped around, and decided on this item, hoping that it would function in the automobile and be fairly straightforward to install, having a trip coming the extremely next day. Well, it functions in the vehicle fantastic, but installing was pretty tricky. What produced it tricky was the wiring - due to the fact of the rear climate controls are wired via the factory entertainment program wiring harness. We did have to get the wiring schematics for our automobile, in order to be in a position to cut out the factory wiring harness so the rear climate manage and rear speakers would function adequately. As soon as the proper schematics were found, it wasn't that tough, we just required to follow very carefully exactly where to cut and what wires to connect together. Mounting it to the roof was not hassle-free, and if the product would have been slightly larger, we could not have utilised the factory installed DVD placing. The instruction manual was only made use of for determining wire leads.
Besides installation, the DVD itself and the quality is actually great. Coming from our factory installed DVD - which now seems teeny - the screen is massive and is conveniently noticed from the back seats, where the young children sit. Oh, and we have an understanding of how screens are measured, so we had been prepared. The swiveling is so painless to use, to tilt towards any direction to see better (in the back seat), or to use from the front passenger seat or driver's seat to change a setting.
The one caveat I have with this program is the remote control (or lack thereof). If I wouldn't have found the remote, this review would be really completely different - therefore why I gave the controls only 3 stars. We lost the remote for a period of a couple weeks, and with no the remote manage, it is near impossible to use the DVD controls (on the unit itself) to watch a movie. We had numerous distinct films that got stuck in the 'special features' section of the DVD and we could not get it to play the movie. I would have had to try to make contact with the manufacturer for a replacement remote, if I had not finally located the factor. So, if you worth your sanity while getting cranky youngsters in the vehicle, DO NOT Lose THE REMOTE! lol.
(A side note that is irritating to most modern DVD players is to start off a movie in the similar location as you watched it, even if you watched 3 films amongst. It's quite irritating, especially if, as I've mentioned, you have lost the remote. I'm not rating this item on that high quality, due to the fact I think it is endemic to most DVD players, not just this one.) The only other factor I would add is that not getting it automatically turn off is a mistake you will only make when (which I did, and our auto battery died).
All in all, fantastic top quality and we've enjoyed employing it on road-trips, regardless of the hassles of installation, and losing the remote. I hope this assessment has been beneficial to you, I attempted to include things like what I would have wanted to know just before we purchased this unit.
This dvd/television is excellent but has an problem. When your playing a dvd it tends to make noise like the disc in the dvd player is rubbing on anything. if you press on the cover the noise stops. I had it for 1 day and had to place tape across the dvd player lid so it does not make noise. Also when you leave your vehicle out in the heat the dvd player will not play anythin. If the Dvd is not acting up it functions just fine.
