After buying this item, I realized how substantial it really is! But, my children (12 and 8) seem to honestly like it. Just know that when the screen is open, you can not use your rear view mirror. The dome lights are rather "blue" in color, and not advised to use for reading (but bright enough to locate one thing). The only issue that I wished is that the dome lights had been connected to my vehicle to turn on when the doors are opened. You only have an on/off switch. I have it installed in a Toyota Sequoia. Also, given that the screen is sizeable, the shaking/movement of it while driving doesn't bother the youngsters. They say that they don't notice the screen moving.
Update: nicely, this unit didn't last very extended (about a month). It was great when it was working, yet, given that the plastic is inexpensive and not much "insulation" from the roof of my car, the screen went out and the DVD's cannot be viewed! Stick with name brands when it comes to electronics. You undoubtedly get what you paid for! Do not invest in this monitor unless you really feel lucky
This units works wonderful. It is fairly light. They built in lights are not vibrant adequate to do any good but I dont plan on ever making use of hem any techniques.
